What to know before donation pickup.
Can you guarantee an item will be donated?
No. The receiving organization makes the final acceptance decision based on condition, safety, space, and current need.
What condition should items be in?
Donation candidates should generally be clean, complete, safe, and usable. Heavy stains, odors, pest evidence, damage, missing parts, or nonworking condition can limit acceptance.
Do I need to move items outside?
Describe where the items are located. Full-service pickup may include lifting from inside, but stairs, elevators, disassembly, and access affect the plan.
How is an estimate prepared?
Item volume and type, labor, access, loading distance, disassembly, timing, and other job conditions may affect the estimate.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
CleanCrew does not promise or issue charitable receipts. Ask the receiving organization about its receipt process and consult a tax professional for tax advice.
Do you take mattresses or hazardous materials?
Do not assume these items qualify for donation. Acceptance varies, and hazardous materials require specialized handling. Describe every item before pickup.
Should I erase electronics?
Yes. Back up what you need, sign out of accounts, remove activation locks, and use the manufacturer’s current erase process.
What should I do before the crew arrives?
Separate what stays, empty furniture, box small goods, clear the path, secure pets, and confirm building access.
